Welcome to J’s Dance Factory Kidderminster! Brought to you by dance education specialist Jessica Ayerst. Jessica is delighted to have opened a JDF school in Kidderminster! Her ambition is to train local dancers who wish to chase the dreams she has made reality.

Jessica attended Kidderminster College where she gained her BTEC and A-Level in dance before moving to London to train at Laban where she gained a BA (HONS) in Dance Theatre. On graduation, Jessica then went onto tour Nationally with ‘Marks.Set.Go!’ a work choreographed by Jules Laville as part of the Cultural Olympiad. Alongside professional work with Watkins Dance Company, Willi Dorner ’Bodies in Urban Spaces’ and Fluer Darkin Ensemble ‘Disgo’. Jessica’s International performances include Africa, Madrid, Munich and the Middle East with ‘Crystaline’ a classical ballet act created by the circus company Tumbellina Productions. Her latest professional work was being a company dancer for 5 years with Joss Arnott Dance. She toured Nationally and Internationally with the company before progressing into the role of rehearsal director and educational officer for the company. 

Jessica then went onto to pursue a career in dance education. She worked for Dancing After School as their Business Manager alongside lecturing at Highworth Grammar School for Girls in Kent. In 2013, Jess qualified with the IDTA and set up a JDF franchise in London, where she was principal for 3 years. Her duties included leading students through IDTA dance examinations and preparing them for professional work with the JDF agency. Jessica’s current role is dance lecturer at Kidderminster College. She has been the level 3 dance course leader and has recently progressed onto teaching on the Higher National Diploma course. 

Jessica adjudicates nationally at dance competitions and delivers the JDF Teacher Training with the IDTA, she was recently awarded CDMT recognition for meeting the nine requirements of good professional practice.
